Marcia Pappas, President of The National Organization for Women - New York State, Inc. will personally meet with Senator Hillary Clinton, on September 15th, 2005, at 2:30 PM to encourage the Senator to support women and oppose John Roberts as the next Supreme Court Justice.
Representing over 35,000 supporters, President Pappas will meet with the Senator in the hopes that Senator Clinton will stand firm on women's rights. Pappas will tell Senator Clinton, "With GW Bush in the White House, and the obvious erosion of women's rights, we are counting on all public officials, who believe in equality for women, to take a strong position and affirm their belief that women have the right to determine their own destiny. This can only happen by protecting a women's right to choose a safe and legal abortion. Women must have control over their bodies and reproductive systems."
New York State and New Yorkers have been in the forefront of women's rights and now is not the time to weaken that position. It is time, to once again, stand with the majority of American's who believe that abortion should be safeguarded for all women. This is not a time for public officials to retreat and desert women.
The National Organization for Women is the largest, political action organization, that seeks to achieve full equality for all women.
