Equal Rights Amendment NOW-New York State supports passage of the Equal Rights Amendment, also known as The Alice Paul Amendment. Until ratification of the ERA, steps must be taken to guarantee the full rights of every citizen and eliminate inequities in existing law. More information on the ERA. |

Reproductive Freedom and Health Care The right to control one's own body is fundamental to the freedom and integrity of every human being. Full reproductive rights must be protected for all women regardless of age or ability to pay. In addition, NOW-New York State affirms that adequate health care is a right that must be extended to every citizen. Support the NYS Reproductive Health Act. Ending Violence Against Women Women as a class are targets of violence including rape, sexual abuse, battering, stalking, harassment, and genital mutilation. Immigration Reform NOW - New York State supports real immigration reform legislation that provides a path to citizenship, promotes the reunification of families, includes protections against exploitation in the workplace, and doesn't include fences, walls or border prisons. The United States is the second highest destination in the world for trafficking victims, bringing in an estimated 17,500 women every year. New York is a leading entry, transit, and destination point for victims. Disorder in the Courts! Participate in this very important survey
From New York to California, women have suffered at the hands of courts that are biased against women. NOW - New York State is asking custodially embattled parents, lawyers and judges to complete a survey. The survey will be used by NOW - NYS to update its research for legislative purposes. The survey is available as a PDF document or a Word document. |
